Students will undergo a hands-on laboratory medicine program where they will learn about select diseases and pair them with relevant lab testing.  They will create DNA models, and using those models, see how changes in DNA structure results in diseases such as sickle cell anemia. In addition, students will solve a murder mystery using forensic skills that depend on laboratory techniques such as ABO blood typing, polymerase chain reaction , gel electrophoresis, hair analysis and DNA fingerprinting.
